PEACE ACTION WEST ENDORSES MARK DESAULNIER FOR CONGRESS

OAKLAND, CA – Peace Action West has announced its endorsement of Senator Mark DeSaulnier for Congress in the 10th Congressional District. Peace Action West joins other progressive organizations endorsing Mark DeSaulnier for Congress, including the California League of Conservation Voters and the Sierra Club.

“We at Peace Action West are proud to endorse Senator Mark DeSaulnier for Congress,” said Rebecca Griffin, political director of Peace Action West. “We believe Senator DeSaulnier’s thoughtful positions on ending the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, re-energizing our alliances, and respecting America’s values and ideals internationally demonstrates his commitment to a foreign policy that makes America and the world a safer place,” Griffin added.

“I am honored to receive the endorsement from Peace Action West for my campaign for Congress,” Senator Mark DeSaulnier said. “As a member of Congress, I will promote a foreign policy that stays true to American values and ideals, honors our alliances around the world, and keeps America strong and safe.  I will stand with President Obama to end the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and demonstrate that a foreign policy that includes ‘soft power’, such as building schools, clinics, and roads in the Middle East and South Asia, strengthens democracy and security at home and abroad.”

DeSaulnier, a Democrat, has been endorsed by Congressman George Miller, Assemblyman Tom Torlakson, over a dozen local labor unions and over two dozen local elected officials. .

DeSaulnier is a candidate for former Congresswoman Ellen Tauscher’s seat in the 10th Congressional District. Tauscher retired from Congress in June.

  1. Having seen the puff piece on DeVore the other day, and now this puffery on DeSaulnier, I’m quickly coming to the conclusion California’s Capitol has become a billboard on L. St.

  2. There are no billboards on L Street near the Capitol, but we would like some with this economy.
