Guess Debra Bowen Didn’t Need Much Help Making a Decision
I have some exciting news and I wanted to share it directly with you: I’ve decided to run for Congress in the 36th District!
Thank you so much for your feedback and support over the last few days. The strong outpouring of encouragement from friends like you was a major factor in my decision, and I hope I can count on your support during my run for Congress.
But now we face a short-term sprint: While the date of the special election hasn’t been set yet, it will be held in the next two to four months, so there isn’t any time to waste.
There’s no question what my number one priority in Washington will be: We need to create more jobs in California and across the nation — especially clean energy jobs — and we need to do it now.
Creating the jobs of the future will require seizing opportunities where the United States can lead the world. That means revitalizing our schools and giving every student the opportunity to go to college.
As a legislator for 14 years and your Secretary of State since 2007, I’ve taken pride in making our government work better for the people it represents, while making it more transparent, accessible, and accountable every step of the way. That’s a fight that I’ll continue in Congress.
But before I can fight for you in Washington, I need to win the upcoming special election that will be held to fill the open seat in California’s 36th Congressional District. Can you help me get off to the strongest possible start, right now?
Serving in the California State Legislature and now as Secretary of State has been a great honor — and it would not have been possible without your friendship and support.
Now I’m counting on your help once more, so I can fight for you and all the people of the 36th District in Congress.
Let’s get to work!
P.S. We have a very short period of time to continue building our strong grassroots campaign that can lead us to victory in this critical special election. So please help us grow our team by forwarding this email to your friends and family and urging them to visit DebraBowen.com to get involved!
