The Chair Shows No Sign of Going Gently Into That Good Night

  1. Crazy old son-of-a-bitch. Burton has never blossomed as a politician because he could never outgrow the shadow of his brother Phil. When history looks back on John he will be nothing more than the butt of jokes and the politician who “could have been.” John Burton talking about a “loss of integrity” is like Lady Gaga writing a manual on abstinence.

  2. John Burton is a state treasure. Wish we had more like him. He is much missed in the Capitol. He is a great advocate for kids, the poor and disabled~something you can’t say about many pols these days.

  3. John Burton is loyal to his friends and supporters, some might even say to a fault. Whatever his faults, however, they do NOT extend to ambushing his allies.

  4. Refreshing, to say the least. Gee, I wish I would have been bold enough to do the same thing in my career…
