Not Sure Carly Or Barbara Feel Breath on Their Necks But…

The headline on our website reads: “$1,000,000, DeVore for California Hits Major Milestone.”

That’s right, the critics are silenced.

As I reflected early this morning about the things I am thankful for, I was very mindful of the thousands of Americans who have stepped forward to support my campaign to defeat Barbara Boxer.

I’m hoping to raise an additional $100,000 before the end of the year and that means I need to raise most of that in the next 10 days – before the Holiday season really kicks into gear.  So I hope I can count on you right now for a contribution of $25 or even $50 or $100.

It was just about this time one year ago I was sitting down with my wife (Diane, who readers may recall wrote the heartfelt, achingly Disneyesque Father’s Day fundraising appeal on Chuck’s behalf) trying to make a final decision about whether to launch this campaign. I knew it was important that Barbara Boxer be challenged by a proven conservative.  And I knew I had the record and campaign experience to defeat her.

But I was concerned about whether I could raise the money necessary to run an effective campaign.

Because of the support of thousands of concerned citizens, I no longer have any doubt I’ll be able to fund a VERY strong campaign against Barbara Boxer.

The fact is in the past yearn (sic) I’ve raised more at this point than any California Republican Senate candidate in a decade. (Editor’s Note: A telling statistic)

Part of that success has been the result of good old-fashioned hard work…

I’ve held more than 212 campaign events and met with more than 30,000 people.

I’ve driven more than 20,000 miles across California.

And I’ve run a tech-savvy campaign that’s helped me identify thousands of new supporters.

Part of it has been Barbara Boxer just being Barbara Boxer… Dressing down a Brigadier General with “Can you call me Senator?” And leading the fight in the U.S. Senate for a massive job-killing “Global Warming Energy Tax” and generally living up to her reputation as “the political equivalent of fingernails on a chalkboard.”

But most of all, it’s been patriotic Americans like you rising up to take back our country from what Barbara Boxer and Barack Obama are trying to do to it.

Barbara Boxer raises her campaign money from Hollywood liberals and fat cat lobbyists. I raise mine from regular Americans like you who give me small and medium-sized contributions one at a time.

And that’s how I win my campaigns, too – one voter at a time.

It’s why I’m willing to spend hours upon hours crisscrossing California meeting with voters and grassroots supporters.  Because I know what it takes to win.  I’m a proven vote getter with a solid conservative record and I can rally the Republican base…

 …appeal to independents…

…and even reach out to moderate Democrats turned-off by Boxer’s extremism. And, I believe together you and I are going to defeat Barbara Boxer and get her extreme left-wing vote out of the Senate.

(Editor’s Note: The statements in the second and third paragraphs prefaced by ellipses are not buttressed by empirical evidence.)

But as I’ve said all along, I can’t do it without your help.

The campaign work being done right now isn’t glamorous but it’s the nitty-gritty hard work done today that produces the harvest next year when it really counts.

As we head toward the end of 2009 and prepare to enter this crucial campaign year, can I count on your support today with a contribution of $50 or more?

With everything the Democrats are doing in Washington there is a real backlash building and it’s going to hit them hard on Election Day 2010. We saw the first fruits of that backlash in early November when Republicans won the Governorships in Virginia and New Jersey – two states Barack Obama won convincingly in 2008.  Recent polls continue to show a similar situation building here in California – Barbara Boxer is vulnerable and I’m well positioned to defeat her.

But I’ve got to keep my campaign moving forward full steam ahead every single day.  To do that I need your continuing support. Anything you can send today – $25, $50, $100, or any other amount will be a big help as I make this final push to close out the year.

All the best,

Chuck DeVore

State Assemblyman (R-CA)

  1. Barbara has no worry, the liberal voters of California will return her to office once again. California is like the titanic, it has hit the ice berg and the liberals continue to shuffle the deck chairs.

  2. Well, maybe those deck chairs are floating now and the water is chest deep and they are thinking \"WTH\" Let\’s bail for the life rafts of those who get it and have a brain, like Chuck Devore. He\’s saying \’man the life boats\’ woman and children FIRST not special interests. Oh ya, there are still people running to keep California alive. He\’s been yelling for years now trying to wake people up. Well, maybe the unemployment rate, the climategate scam, and a few other things going on in California just may make those deck chairs irrelevant.
