Some Things Never Change…

“Lord, the money we do spend on government and it’s not one bit better than the government we got for one-third the money 20 years ago.”

“Things in our country run in spite of government — not by aid of it.”

“With Congress, every time they make a joke it’s a law. And every time they make a law, it’s a joke.”

“If we got one-tenth of what was promised to us in these acceptance speeches there wouldn’t be any inducement to go to heaven.”

“There’s no trick to being a humorist when you have the whole government working for you.”

  1. What was the Don referring to when he said:

“How did things get this far?”

    (a) When the water deal was passed.

    (b) When his boy, Sonny, was gunned down at
    Long Island toll booth; or

    (c) When he learned the legislature’s budget
    is approaching $250 million.
