DAY 20: FISCAL YEAR 2009-2010 YREKA!!! BUDGET DEAL ANNOUNCED

A deal was announced around 7:15 PM, Pacific Standard Time, between Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and the Legislature on closing an estimated $26 billion gap in the budget for the fiscal year that began July 1.

As always, untidy details to follow.

  1. No new taxes but my income is taxed 15% with furloughs. No new taxes but by taking money from cities, counties and special districts my local costs are going up (i.e., increased water fees from EID). But thank God the oil companies are not going to have to pay any more taxes for extracting California oil!

  3. Hope you took notice of the brilliant tactic in the budget agreement. Our leaders want to release 27,000 prison inmates.
Why,you ask? It’s simple. They will use the beds for the elderly, blind and disabled people who are being kicked out of the IHSS homecare program. What genius!
